How to change the Hull Battarie for an SB 3 Tacktick

I have had a number of hull batteries of the Tacktick not charging latetly and have investigated the problem in the last couple of weeks.
The SB3 Tacktick has two batteries, one rechargable one in the back of the black detachable unit and another one in the grey box inside the hull. This is usually bolted to the bulk head just next to the mast.

Occasionaly the unit on the mast shows "hull battarie low or low hull power" this means it is time to replace the rechargable battarie inside the grey box.
To do this please follow the steps below:

1. Please be reminded that you will void any residual warranty on the tacktick and there is the option to send it back to the factory to get this changed. for more information about this please visit the tacktick website for contact details.
2. To change the batterie remove the front cover of the grey box inside the hull. Detach all plugs inside the box, there are three green plugs to be removed.
3. Detach the grey box from the bulk head, there are three screws to be taken out plus the box is glued to the bulk head so carefully pull until it comes off.
4. On the back of the grey box you will find 5 little screws, remove these with a very small star screw driver (available at any Bunnings for $8.45 per set)
5. Inside you will find a batterie pack as per the attached picture. Remove the plug very carefully with a small pair of pliers. 
6. You can obtain a replacement pack at any well stocked batterie supplier who is willing to build you a replacement.
7. The big issue seems to be the plug at the end of it. Make sure that the batterie supplier solders this one back on because they are very hard to come by. My supplier asked to have the old pack sent to him to copy from and soldered the plug back on for me.
8. Total cost including shipping $45.

2012 SB3 World Championships Confirmed for Geelong

To help drive the class forward for our Worlds in late January 2012 , we are going to release a series of used SB3s into the market at very aggressive pricing.

These boats are all late 2007 built ( delivered to us in January 2008 ) and will be sold at $31995.00 inc gst , with trailer/cover/sails/TackTick and will be ready to sail.  Some boats are available for immediate delivery and some not available for delivery until Feb 2010.

We will have boats located in Melbourne , Sydney and Mooloolaba.

There are fixed numbers of boats and once these are sold this offer cannot be repeated.

SB3s now call paradise home !!

After an inglorious arrival to paradise by barge, the first SB3 based in the Australian Tropics should appear on local Whitsunday start lines in a few days. The proud new owner  of AUS 3380, Dennis Winstanley , iconic and perennial Australian Windsurfing Champ - has take the step into OD sports boat racing with his new SB3. Hi All,

We have had number of difficulties to attach a SB 3 Road Trailer to a low tow bar on cars and trucks.

We have come up with a very easy method to attach the jockey wheel a bit highr in order to be able to lower the trailer hitch down a bit further.
